The Senior Friendship Club in Rhosneigr - 26th June 2025
We were invited to play for this group by Bronney and Vanessa.
It was in their lovely village hall. It was a bit warm to say the
least and we have to squeeze in tight. We played lots of 60s
songs and songs we thought they would know and we soon got
them singing along and tapping their feet. We met some lovely
people, shared their ice cream and cool drinks, and they even
gave us two boxes of wine. Thank you we thorougly enjoyed it.
The Menai Warm Space in Menai Bridge - 23rd June 2025
They are so friendly here at the Menai Bridge War Memorial
Community Centre. We played for about 90 minutes, playing
some our best songs, we didn’t use any microphones and played
and sang as nature intended. The audience were lovely and very
interactive and singing with us. It gives you a lovely feeling when
you bring a little fun to ordinary people. Afterwards some of us
drifted off to the famous Victoria pub for a well deserved drink.
Relay for Life - Treborth Racing Track in Bangor - 22nd June 2025
This was simply awesome. We played for about an hour on
stage and our audio was transmitted around the track. we used
their PA system which was brilliant. When we got there, the
walkers had been walking for about 22 hours and some of them
(and the staff) looked very tired indeed. That said, some of them
still managed to dance to our music. We later heard that the
event had made a staggering £43,000 for cancer.
Anglesey Bee Keeping Association Bodedern - 21st June 2025
This was a lot of fun, we met some of the islands Bee Keepers
and kept them entertained for a while. At times we had to dodge
the rain a bit but it brightened out lovely. We were well looked
after with copious drinks and a huge hog roast. With us was Art,
a brilliant guitarist on holiday from Canada and Mike Thompson,
a well know bass guitarist from Cemaes. This was our first ever
open air event and to top it off we all received a jar of honey!
The Boston Center Stage in Holyhead - 27th May 2025
This was an exceptionally enjoyable performance. The audience
was about 40 in number, including some with special needs.
They were brilliant and we met some amazing people. We
performed various songs that encouraged audience
participation. Through-out the 90-minute session, everyone
enjoyed singing and playing together, making it a highly
enjoyable and fun experience. The picture shows Ryan in the
foreground with strings n Things. Thank you, Natalie, we hope to
return soon.
Plas Dyffryn Care Home in Valley - 15th May 2025
This was our second visit this year and 12 of us had a lovely time,
playing and singing for the residents and visitors. We did lots of
50s and 60s songs that they would have grown up with. They
loved it, joining in and tapping their feet etc., and so did we.
Afterwards we were rewarded with tea and some delicious fairy
cakes. It’s a lovely home with a loving warm caring atmoshere.
The staff were brilliant. PS couldn’t resist this picture of Jane,
Pauline and Louise tucking into their cakes.

Hospice. We performed a variety of 60s and earlier songs and
also a wartime medley to commerorate VE Day. It was so nice to
bring a bit of sunshine and live music to them. The Audiences
made of Patients, their Visitors and Staff were absolutely
brilliant. It was so rewarding to see them singing away with us
and tapping their feet etc. In the Hospice, Louise sang “little
things, mean a lot” and Jane sang “Jolene” which were beautiful. We
were also supplied with some delicious cakes and drinks. What a lovely day, Thank you Dawn.
The Gateway Club in Llangefni - 3rd May 2025

Tea and cakes too. I didn’t want it to end.
Mirilli Mon Dementia and Activity Center - 1 April 25
Here we did some good old favourites and 60s songs to a large
audience. They were a great audience and we all had a lot of fun
to. We also received a delicious meal with a pudding. Here’s
what they said about us …
“For anyone who hasn’t heard of Strings n’ Things they are a
local group who play musical instruments and sing and enjoy
sharing their music, but that isn’t what makes them special, it’s that
something they carry with them! A special fairy dust that spreads around the room like a
Mexican wave of ‘feel good vibes, they aren’t playing for money and they certainly aren’t clock
watching, they just want you to join them on a journey of nostalgia, fun and pleasure, their
enthusiasm and exuberance is highly contagious and for our members capturing that ‘feeling’ is
priceless particularly when memory, logic and reason is fading. I have no doubt that many
members and care partners took the ‘fairy dust’ feeling home with them today, in fact we all
did.”
The Ucheldre in Holyhead - 29th March 2025
Adrienne created this Saturday night show to raise money for the
Womans Football team. We were one of many brilliant acts. We

performed really well, best performance yet and all the songs
can be seen on our YouTube channel here

Here we played at the Gateway club, which assists adults with
learning difficulties. We played songs that we thought they
would join in with, and boy did we have a great time. Our song
list pretty much went out of the window as 3 of the audience
requested to sing a song each (Paper Roses, Bring me sunshine
and Bobby’s girl). Fortunately we had the music and could
accompany them and they were excellent. Another lad wanted
a
train song so we did Folsom Prison Blues and Nathen played
drums on one of the songs. It was just a lovely, fun filled session for all of us. Oh and we had Tea
and cakes too.
Plas Dyffryn Care Home in Valley - 22 February 2025
